I did some practice for the Bead Journal Project while I waited for the OK to begin. I think I came up with a new way to do the backstitch. I followed the instructions I found and it all seemed simple, until I started stitching. Those stitches looked awful to me. So I put it down for a day and when I came back to it, started stitching away only to find that I am not doing it the same way. The good part is, my stitches aren't going anywhere! The are quite stable and very hard to remove. LOL This way is just easier for me for some reason.
I also thought I had the size I wanted to commit to. I figured a 3 x 5 or a 4 x 6 size would be just right. Well, not when I saw how tiny those beads are on the fabric. I know I will want to fill in some of my pages completely and, looking at the size, I new I'd fall behind in no time. I wanted to be free of the pressure of falling behind ~ this is supposed to be a fun challenge, right? So I opted for a square 4 x 4. I found I may have an idea on how to display them when finished too.
So, now with the OK to begin, my ideas in order, my supplies all together.....I am ready to begin my new journal journey.
