September BJP completed!!
I have finished and photgraphed my very first Bead Journal Project for your viewing pleasure. It's called "Reflections of Me". The middle is a mirror, a found object from long ago that I had obviously kept thinking I would someday use for something, and I guess I have. The colors I used are some of my favorites from my own stash. The little "petals" represent one for each of my kids and one for my husband. LOL They are always near. I even left the white pencil marks around the edges, on purpose.
Not perfect, but...Hey, that's me! That is why I kept it as my first and didn't start over. I needed it to show myself that I am not perfect but I try, sometimes too hard. Hopefully, from here on out, I will get better. Always good to leave room for improvement too.
Hope you like it!

oooooooooo Kelly - it's perfect! I really like it! I would personally leave the edges as is - but I suppose it depends on how you are going to "display" the end result of the year-long process...

Kelly, what a great start. I love the colors and the use of the found mirror. Wonderful. Can't wait to see next months.
Nice page, your favorite colors are my favorite colors too! Great idea to use found objects in your pages.
It looks great! I love the thought that went into it!

Nice job, Kelly. I usually put a picot edge stitch on when I add the backing to my page. It just seems to finish it.

I more than like it, Kelly! It seems very profound in it's simplicity. I wish I could look in the mirror. Good for you that you worked through the problems you had with it and let it be OK to not be perfect! That's a precious gift to yourself and your artistic pathway. Bravo! Robin A.
This is wonderful! I like mirror, the colors and the overall feel of your piece. It's good that even though you had a mishap, you continued on and have a completed piece. As for more beading or leaving it be, you will decide that as you progress through the year, I think. :)

Thanks everyone! I'm so happy you liked it!
I think I will wait unitl the very end, when I assemble all of my pieces. I know what I want to do for my final already, and waiting might just be best.
Thank you for the wonderful comments! :)
That's a very nice page. Love the way you used the found mirror and included your family.
Terrific -- great piece --
Love the design and colors Kelly! It's wonderful how you incorporated all the people who are important to you in such a beautiful way!

Hi Kelly...I'm finally making time to get around to the BJP members today!
Thank you for swinging by my blog and feel free to visit anytime you'd like!
And, oh dear...I think we may have got off on the same start this year! I have made the same mistake as you before and lighting in the evening is huge! (For me, it's my readers too...day or night! ~wink~) I'm glad you stuck with it and worked it through! I like your theme and your September page is lovely! It's so great that you used that found mirror and that the petals represent your family!
I'm looking forward to seeing each of your monthly pages!
Have a nice weekend...
~Lisa ;-)
