The motivating factors for this piece were money in general and of course St. Patrick's Day.
I tend to somewhat horde (save) money. My husband, not so much. All I seemed to hear about on the TV was in regards to money. I realized I had better start saving more fast, and watch each and every penny. I tried getting my husband to see why and get him to do the same. I hope I've succeeded there. I also worked on my kids with the money issues facing us now. Not too sure if they get it yet, but their level of saying "I want that" or "Can you buy me this" has dropped dramatically.
I also chose this little Pot of Gold because, when I was little, we used to say "If you believe the pot of gold is at the end of the rainbow, you'll find it". I must not have believed enough, because, I've never found one yet. This is about as close as I think I'll be to one, so there you go.
I did enjoy beading this piece. I liked the texture of the beads I chose and the colors speak St. Patty's Day to me. I didn't put the rainbow in. I've never found the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow so I figured why do it. Then again, and always second guessing my work, it's always there so I need it. It's not backed yet so I will think on it.
What do you think? Rainbow or no rainbow?

No rainbow? Its just perfect the way it is. Your beading and choice of beads are perfect. They give dimension to your piece. It is definitely a ROUND pot.
I love your March page! and I really love your explanation of it, sure wish I was more like you with saving money-I'm probably more like your husband, though learning really fast that to save money is way better!!! lol... no rainbow is my vote, it's perfect the way it is... besides, there's way too many other things at the end of that rainbow to add, like health, love, friendship.... just my thoughts... Great page, looks like it was fun to do...
I'm not seeing sameness.
Rainbow? Totally your call. Either way is fine with me.
I like the balance as it is!
I understand about "getting harder" and think we're all more or less in that boat eight months into this project... However, I try to remember that truth is never boring and then just ask myself, "What is important to me this month? Where are my thoughts and my heart right now? What is my real truth?"
Your pot o' gold certainly reflects your truth and speaks to most of us in this time. I really like it. You could put one rainbow color between each of the rays, but I think it will have the same impact and message either way.
My husband is like yours and there's no changing him... Akkkkk.

Very nice. I don't think it needs anything else, either. I especially like the St. Patrick's Day theme--it's my daughter's birthday.

Don't know how I missed this post on the BJP blog, but I'm glad I finally got to see your March piece. It says it all, rainbow or no rainbow!

This is terrific! It's such a perfect choice for March and for the current economic times. Sure wish I were more like you savingswise!
I'm with Mary...it's balanced just right the way it is! Wishing you rainbows in your future! And for all of us!
Warmest aloha,

I don't think it needs the rainbow. The idea is there with the pots and the shamrocks. Very nice page. I'm afraid I haven't been much of a saver lately but I've had to pinch pennies most of my life just to get by so I'm enjoying being able to spend a little now.
Kelly this just makes me smile!!!
